While Vice Ganda has quickly become the hottest comedian on TV, many are anticipating a clash between the Showtime resident judge and Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai de las Alas. However, Ai-Ai dispelled rumors that she is growing insecure with the gay comedian’s success and instead said that she is even willing to do a project with him. “‘Wag nang showdown. Siguro pwede kaming magsama sa sitcom, sa variety show.” Ai-Ai was one of the first comedians who successfully crossed over from comedy bars to TV and movies. Many followed suit, like Chokoleit, Pooh, and Vice.
Ai-Ai wished Vice well as the latter is about to take a big plunge into the concert scene with his first major show at the Araneta Coliseum on May 15. “Good luck, Vice. Good luck. Vice has been vocal about considering Ai-Ai as one of his many idols, even wishing for a collaboration with her on a concert. However, Ai-Ai said she could not do so because of her many commitments. “Sayang nga e. Busy kasi ako. May Pilipinas Got Talent tuwing Sabado, e Sabado ‘yung concert niya.”
Ai-Ai is expected to be more busy this 2010 since she recently signed a new contract with ABS-CBN. The funny girl will continue as one of the judges in Pilipinas Got Talent and will also begin taping for her new show with Aga Muhlach. First time kong makaka-work si Aga kaya excited ako. Ai-Ai is also set to do another teleserye by the end of the year.
She has also been chosen to star in the Mother’s Day special presentation of Maalaala Mo Kaya on May 8. Ai-Ai thanked the Kapamilya network for continuously entrusting her with quality projects. Thank you kina Ma’am Charo (Santos, ABS-CBN President and MMK host).” abs-cbn.com
